Bhutan experiences four different seasons and each season has its own perks and charms. The best time to visit Bhutan entirely depends on the interest of the traveler and also the activities one wish to embark on while in Bhutan.

Spring

Spring Season (March, April & May) is a nature lover’s delight as the whole country will be painted in green and blossoms will be in full riot. Flowers such as rhododendron, wild azaleas, and edelweiss will flood the meadows.

Summer

Summer season (June, July & August) is usually rainy reason and also the monsoon season in Bhutan. The trees will still be green and with cool wind blowing all the time makes it perfect for a summer stroll on the streets.

Autumn

Autumn (September, October & November) season is the fall season in Bhutan. The entire country is painted in gold and the paddy fields will be ready for harvest. It is perfect for photography tours and trekking tours.

Winter

Winter (December, January & February) season usually has days with warm sunshine while evenings can turn a little chilly. Western and central region usually experience snow during winter.

Punakha Drubchen
Punakha Drubchen is held at the magnificent Punakha Dzong and Is celebrated every year in February.

Paro Tshechu
The Paro Tshechu is celebrated around March and April depending on the Bhutanese moon calendar.

Thimphu Tshechu
The most popular Tshechu in Bhutan is the Thimphu Tshechu and is celebrated in September or October also depending on the Bhutanese moon calendar.
